Dance Battle Royale – S1E4
Episode 4 of the new hit series Dance Battle Royale brought us the tribal stylings of both Beau Nemli and Oji Long. The song they danced to was none other than Childish Gambino's This is America, an interesting take on what being American means. The two men faced off to the throbbing beat of the music.

Beau opened with a sort of poplock posing that was a direct contrast to Oji's fluid contemporary movements. A lot of Oji's dances involved a lot of arm gestures, whereas Beau employed a good use of full body motions. His steps stomped in time to the music, even punctuating his dance with a hop on a downbeat in perfect timing.

Oji seemed to favor a more flowy and expressive dance style which played an interesting contrast to Beau's very intentional and tribal style. It was quite the interesting comparison to watch! I managed to catch up with Beau Nemli following the show to learn a bit about the man. Unfortunately, Oji Long was unavailable for comment.

Beau is a single straight man, a Lakota native, which is where his dancing experience comes from. He's confident, but also is in it for the fun, rather than the win.
​
Here's the kicker, his daughter (adopted) is in the competition with him. Lilian Brinner may, at some point in this show, have to face off against her father in one of the upcoming episodes! What does Beau have to say about that? "Ha! She will lose." Evidently, Beau's had a long history of comeptition with his daughter and is confident that he will come out on top should they be pitted against one another. "...I'd definitely go head to head with Lilian. So long as she doesn't get upset when I win."

Beau also extends his gratitude to Rizzo for getting him involved with the show as it's been a good way to get himself active in something again since his reappearance in town. He's interested to see the polls results and so were we!
Beau Nemli came out on top of this episode's voting and will progress on to the next stage of the contest, eliminating Oji Long. Next up, we have the lovely Taffy facing off against Abigail Winters on Monday, July 22nd at5pm (SLT) on NBCD!
